Hillary Clinton has reportedly agreed to become secretary of state to the incoming US administration of Barak Obama.
The New York Times reports that two Clinton associates confirmed the decision. She is said to have agreed to the move after follow up talks with Obama to clarify the nature of the role. Obama's side said there were no plans for a formal announcement until after next week's Thanksgiving holiday. Rumours of the possibility of the appointment first surfaced last weekend, triggering a week of intense speculation in Washington. Obama and Clinton were bitter rivals in the race to become the presidential nominee for the Democrats.
